With the senior team vying to successfully defend their league title, Orlando Pirates fans have vowed to scoop all 33 000 tickets available for this all-important ABSA Premiership clash against Bloemfontein Celtic on Saturday.
According to prominent Bucs supporters, the Ghost from across the country will embark on a supporter’s mobilisation campaign in an attempt to show their unwavering support to the team in the last two matches of the league.
Goolam Mohamed, 51, from Germinston and Otto Jhwara from the Johannesburg Branch, revealed they will be doing their part to encourage their fellow Ghost to attend the match this weekend.
“After winning the league last season and enjoying massive bragging rights in football circles, we cannot afford to relax when the team needs us. I want to remain a Champion and in my area, I will make sure I invite a least three people for this game – it is a must,” said Mohamed.
From Krugersdorp Tshepo, 35, a staunch supporter, said that he cannot afford to be distant from such an occasion.
“From this side (Krugersdorp), we are making provisions to head to Johannesburg by Thursday or Friday,” he says.
“This is a big match and we have to win against Celtic. The team can count on my support; that is for sure.”
Bomba Modi, 48, from Port Elizabeth said that in his area (Uitenhage), the fans will with no doubt head to Johannesburg for the match on Saturday.
“I will be working this weekend, but the other guys will be in Orlando. I will drive to Durban for next weeks’ match – this is our team and we have to show our support… I know we will win and I am just going there to celebrate with the guys,” he said.
Meanwhile, Orlandopiratesfc.com can confirm that close to 15 000 tickets have been sold so far.
Tickets for adults are R40 for the general stand tickets, while juveniles (under 12 years old) will have to fork-out R10 for their tickets.
The tickets can be purchased at Shoprite and Computicket outlets across the country.
