Orlando Pirates new signee Frank Olivier has revealed that he is ready to put a good fight and turn the tables on Kaizer Chiefs when the two Soweto Giants lock horns in the semi-final of the Telkom Charity Cup at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Saturday.

“There’s no thinking twice about it, we are still hurting after losing to Kaizer Chiefs in the Vodacom Challenge, hence we are more determined to fight to the death and avenge last week’s defeat,” said Olivier.

“Games against Chiefs always have a special significance, hence there’s no way we can take it lightly. We are looking forward to the match with great anticipation and nothing less than a victory will make us happy...besides, we owe it to our supporters,” he added.

The Cameroonian international, who made his debut in the 2-0 win against Manchester City last month, expressed his satisfaction on his first appearance for the club but also admitted that there was lots of work to be done.

“It was a very emotional moment for me, to be honest; I didn’t expect to start as I was still struggling with a hamstring injury. But, when the Head coach announced my name in the starting line-up, I forgot about everything and focused on making my mark in the Pirates colours. Though I wasn’t fully fit, I believe I did my bit and can still offer more to Bucs.

“I am very proud that I have contributed to the downfall of Manchester City on that historical day when all Africans were celebrating Mandela’s birthday,” said the 24-year-old.

“Personally, my debut for Pirates didn’t go as well as I would’ve liked as I was still injured, but I am fully fit now and raring to go this weekend. I am aiming at my first Soweto Derby on Saturday, and I really want to make it a very memorable one,” concluded the Yaoundé-born midfielder.
