Orlando Pirates anchorman Benson Mhlongo has been ruled out for the rest of the season after undergoing knee surgery on Friday.

The 28-year-old midfielder underwent surgery after scope tests revealed that he had tore ligaments in his left knee.

Orlandopiratesfc.com spoke to team doctor Bobby Ramasia to get insight into the procedure Mhlongo went through on Friday.

He said: “Mhlongo underwent athroscopy on Friday morning and the results showed that he would require surgery - subsequent to that the doctors operated on the injured knee.

"The resumption of any sporting activity will take anything between five to six months,” concluded Ramasia.
