Bucs season opens at home

Following the confirmation of the Premier Soccer League fixtures, Orlando Pirates will get their 2016/17 campaign underway with a home game against Golden Arrows on Wednesday, 24 August. The match is scheduled for a 19H30 kickoff. The league focus would need to shift quickly, however, as the Buccaneers turn their attention to the cup sprint, where Bidvest Wits will host the MTN8 Quarterfinal just three days later.
A Western Cape reunion also beckons after the FIFA window, when we head down south to meet up with Roger de Sa’s Ajax in Cape Town, before returning home to take on the newly-formed outfit Cape Town City, under the tutelage of Eric Tinkler. We’ll celebrate our Heritage with Part Two of the Bucs-Wits Saga when we are once again hosted by the Clever Boys, this time in the league, before Platinum Stars make their 140km south-easterly trip to Orlando for the month-end 19H30 kickoff on the 27 September 2016.
Orlando Pirates will also host the first of two league derbies on the 29th October, before moving towards another epic holiday clash with league champions Mamelodi Sundowns on December 16th. The turn of the year will see a post-AFCON league resumption in February with a trip to Phokeng to take on Platinum Stars, followed by an away derby on the 4th March 2017, before we close the season in Durban against Golden Arrows.
All other competition fixtures, dates, venues, times as well as ticket information for all our fixtures will be confirmed at a later stage.
