Orlando Pirates midfielder, Thabo Qalinge, has been ruled out of any competitive football following confirmation from the Medical Team of his hamstring injury.
ĎSection 10í, as he is affectionately known, experienced some tightness in him muscle last week and has since been nursed back to a competitive level while on camp in Potchefstroom.
Following a failed fitness test, and a scan this morning, the Clubís Dr. Matebula declared that Qalinge has been booked off the field in order to treat the injury.
Speaking to Qalinge after the scan, the midfielder was saddened but positive by the confirmation.
ďItís unfortunate to be injured at a time when the team is getting together to prepare for the season. Whenever there is a new coach and new players, we all want to impress so that we can be in contention for selection. This is just bad timing, but itís also how the game goesĒ said the midfielder.
ďIím still feeling good though, very positive. Itís a long season ahead so Iím working on being back as soon as possible. Iíve got a great team of specialists around me so Iím confident that I will be ok. Thank you to everyone that has been encouraging me in everything Iíve been doing so far, Iím working hard to be back for you guys as well.Ē
We wish Thabo Qalinge a speedy recovery, and we will monitor his progress as he continues to work with the Bucsí Conditioning and Rehabilitation teams.
