Seven in FIFA 2018 World Cup squad

Goalkeeper Brighton Mhlongo has earned himself a call up to the South African national team.

This after Bafana Bafana Head Coach Shakes Mashaba announced his 25-man squad for his opening 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifier against Burkina Faso today.

Mhlongo has been selected along with fellow goalkeeper Jackson Mabokgwane, Abboubaker Mobara, Thabo Matlaba, Oupa Manyisa, Mpho Makola and Thamsanqa Gabuza.

The Buccaneers will be traveling to Ouagadougou with the rest of their squad for their match on October 8, followed by an international friendly match against Ghana in Durban three days later.
