Buccaneers to face EC Bees

Orlando Pirates will face EC Bees in the Last 32 of the Nedbank Cup.

The 10th edition of the knockout tournament was launched in Sandton, Johannesburg on Thursday evening. The first round of fixtures will kick-off during the week of March 8-14.

The Nedbank Cup which is South Africa’s answer to the English FA Cup, is the only cup competition which makes it possible for the lower league teams to compete against the so-called big teams.

This will be a first ever matchup between the Soweto Giants and the Eastern Cape based outfit.

EC Bees are a club who ply their trade in the ABC Motsepe League (Eastern Cape). They are the current log leaders of the league after 15 games played. The side is undefeated in the league having won 11 and drawn 4 matches in the process.

Dates for the fixture will be released by the league at a later stage.
