Pirates unveils second Learning Centre

Orlando Pirates Football Club’s ambition is to empower learners and unemployed youth with literacy through ICT to improve on their Mathematics and English continues. Last week the Mighty Buccaneers were in Heidelburg to unveil a learning centre for the community of Ratanda.
“There is through set of values that we have to live by in order to become a winning nation,” said Club director Franklin Chakane at the launch of Pirates’ second learning centre. “It is from our actions, that we aid our children with the necessary skills and values to ensure that they are equipped and ready to face the challenges of this world.”
Orlando Pirates believes that education is one value that no child should go without. Thus the purpose of the learning centre is designed to aid in the development of this process for the community of Ratanda.
Present at the launch of the learning centre in Rantanda, was the Gauteng MEC of Education, Panyaza Lusufi; Lesedi Executive Mayor, Cllr Lerato Maloka and CEO of Inqaba Yokulinda Buyisiwe Khoza.
The Learning Centre aims to work collaboratively with the Department of Education to promote community cohesion, education and lifelong learning. Working in partnership with Inqaba Yokulinda, Orlando Pirates will use the power of football to excite and inspire the children from of Ratanda community.
