Memela magic continues

13 January, 2018

Luvuyo Memela produced yet another five-star performance in the exciting Absa Premiership clash against Mamelodi Sundowns.

Memela, who came into this match off the back of a Man of the Match performance against Baroka FC, scored his third goal in two matches to help the Buccaneers secure a 3-1 win over the Brazilians.

Speaking after the match, Memela praised his teammates for a job well done. “This was a good win for us,” said Memela. “We came into this match with a plan and I think we executed that plan fairly well. I would like to congratulate the whole team for this wonderful effort because this win couldn’t have been achieved without us working together as a team.”

“On a personal level, I am happy to be on the score sheet again but more so that my contribution has assisted the team to record another important win. This was by no means an easy game - Sundowns were tough, they kept us on our toes for the whole match but like I said earlier fortunately we stuck to our game plan and got the desired result.”

When asked how long he could keep up this purple patch for 2018, Meme said: “Look, all players want to play at their best at all times but it’s not always possible. I would like to continue scoring like I have in the last two matches but the most important thing for me right now is to see us winning games and moving up the log table. If we can continue doing this then I am happy….more so than scoring.”
