Bucs off to Zambia

The Orlando Pirates team flies out to Zambia this morning where they’ll continue preparations ahead of the start of the 2018/2019 season next month.

The squad recently returned from a trip to Nelspruit where the boys were taken through their paces under the watchful eyes of the Technical Team and the Strength and Conditioning department.

This week long stay was concluded with a practice match over this past weekend against a local club.

It was the first time that both Micho Sredojevic and Rhulani Mokwena got to see the new players in a match situation but the trip to Ndola – where the club will be based, will most certainly provide the Pirates brains trust with better insight into the squad they have for the new season.

Speaking to Orlandopiratesfc.com, Head Coach Sredojevic said: “We are in the building phase of our pre-season. This is the stage where we lay down the foundation for the season that lies ahead.”

“We had a successful trip to Nelspruit where we got to blend the old and new players together, and now we are off to Zambia where we’ll continue to strengthen all departments by exposing them to different playing conditions and of course stronger opposition.”
