Bafana Bafana Head Coach Hugo Broos named a 23-man squad consisting of four Orlando Pirates players ahead of the September international break.
South Africa have two friendlies lined up towards the end of the month, where they will face Sierra Leone and neighbours Botswana.
The Belgian mentor has called up the Bucs quartet of Innocent Maela, Nkosinathi Sibisi, Goodman Mosele and Zakhele Lepasa ahead of the fixtures.
Skipper Maela has been retained from the squad that was named ahead of Bafana’s last competitive fixture – the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Morocco – alongside Goodman Mosele, who also travelled to the North African country back in June. Meanwhile, Sibisi has an opportunity to add to his three international caps, having last donned national colours during the friendly against reigning world champions France, which took place in March this year.
Also back in the fold is Lepasa, who is rewarded for his recent form with a call-up after last making a senior international appearance in the 2019 COSAFA Cup. His recall comes after his recent heroics for the Buccaneers, where he netted a brace against TS Galaxy earlier in the month.
Bafana Bafana host Sierra Leone at FNB Stadium on Saturday, 24 September before they welcome Botswana to the same venue three days later. Kick-off times will be confirmed at a later date.
