Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium hosts another showcase of the countryās emerging talent, with the young Buccaneers among the teams on display on the opening day of the festival.
Form GuideĀ
They head into the fixture in high spirits after bagging an emphatic 4-1 victory over Gauteng rivals Mamelodi Sundowns last Sunday. The win brought them to the top of the standings, a position they will seek to consolidate with yet another top performance.
Against the home side, Pirates will be looking for a third straight win and a continuation of their excellent recent form, which has yielded five wins in their last six matches.
The young Buccaneers have kept three clean sheets over this period while consistently finding the net to tally up an impressive 14 goals.
They come up against an Arrows side fresh off a draw in their last outing, where they salvaged a point on the road road against Cape Town City.
Currently 10th in the standings, the men from KZN are unbeaten in their last three games and boast 10 points in their last six – courtesy of three wins and a draw – with eight goals scored and seven conceded.
Despite their relatively low placement on the log, they have proven difficult to beat throughout the season, only registering three losses in their 13 matches.
Head-to-HeadĀ
The Bucs Reserves were the victorious side on their last visit to their Arrows counterparts, scoring twice in the gameās final 10 minutes to walk off 2-0 victors. This was before completing a league double at Rand Stadium, where they netted two unanswered goals through Seun Moremi and Mpumelelo Ndaba.
It was yet another season where victory over the Soweto Giants eluded the Durban outfit, whose last triumph in this fixture came in September 2018.
Since then, the Buccaneers have won three of the last five games, with the young Abafana Besāthende holding them to a stalemate on two occasions.
