Injury Update Ahead of Royal AM Clash

The Orlando Pirates medical team has provided updates on those players who will be missing in the DStv Premiership encounter against Royal AM tonight.

Thembinkosi Lorch has been ruled out for the encounter due to injury, whilst Katlego Otladisa will undergo a late fitness test to determine his illegibility for tonight’s encounter.

According to the medical team, Otladisa suffered a knock in Bucs’ 1-0 defeat to Stellenbosch FC at the weekend, while Lorch will be assessed after complaining of a hamstring strain.

Speaking to Orlandopiratesfc.com, Kutlwano Molefe said: “I can confirm that Lorch has been ruled out due to injury. He is joined by Otladisa who suffered a blow to the knee after a poor tackle from an opposing player”.

The duo joins a list of other injuries which includes Kermit Erasmus, Vincent Pule, Miguel Timm and Kabelo Dlamini, who all missed the opening clash of the season as they are nursing respective injuries.

On a positive note, Molefe provided assurance that these injuries are not long term and the return of the players will depend on their ability to train without any discomfort or pain.

“As a medical department, we have acted swiftly to address the injuries and this is key in ensuring the swift turnaround of the injured players to getting ready. Through these interventions, we are confident these players will be back soon.”
