Learning Centre Students Graduate

15 December, 2017

Last week saw over 150 students graduate from the Orlando Pirates Learning Centre. As the year comes to an end the students completed their programme with improved Math, English and ICT skills. Graduates received certificates and prizes from Ford, the club’s vehicle partner, as a token of appreciation for the good work and effort they had put into their education at the centre over the past term. Learners who had done exceptionally well also won complimentary tickets to see Orlando Pirates play in the ABSA Premiership.

One of the programmes which came to a conclusion last week was the Click Maths programme, where learners were able to learn Maths in their mother tongue of either isiZulu or Xhosa. The learners were able to improve their Maths by over 10% on average during this course, which helps them build a foundation and better understand basic concepts in Mathematics as it is explained in the student’s home language.

The Orlando Pirates Learning Centre will open again in early January 2018 where a new intake of learners and teachers will embark on a unique experience to improve their skills and empower themselves through online education programmes throughout the year.
