MDC Preview: Maritzburg vs Pirates

Orlando Pirates Reserves are one of six Multichoice Diski Challenge (MDC) outfits that will be on show at Ulundi Regional Stadium in KwaZulu-Natal this coming weekend. The MDC Bucs are squaring off against Maritzburg United on Saturday.

They will be on a high, having vanquished their biggest rivals, Kaizer Chiefs in their last outing.

The Buccaneers edged Amakhosi in a fiercely contested derby at Dobsonville Stadium, running off 1-0 winners in front of packed stands.

The victory was their eighth this season, and propelled them up to third on the table, just touching distance away from the log leaders.

Three more points will be on the agenda once more against a side on the opposite end of the standings.

Maritzburg have had somewhat of a nightmarish season, losing ten matches, the most of any team in the competition.

They will be desperate to add to their solitary victory, and might just fancy their chances closer to home.

Two unanswered goals gave Pirates the victory the last time these two sides met, avenging a 3-1 defeat suffered the previous season.

Kickoff for this encounter is scheduled for 12:00.
