Orlando Pirates Football Club is proud to announce its official fuel partnership with Caltex South Africa.
With its roots stretching back to 1936, Caltex was formed through the merging of the California Texas Oil Company and Standard Oil Company (which went on to become Chevron), and like Orlando Pirates are celebrating eight decades of existence filled with great influence across all walks of society.
The similarities between the two powerhouse brands does not just stop at their inception dates, but extends to a prominent feature in their insignia which is recognised by all and sundry, wherever it may be seen. The Caltex Star, like the gold star that adorns the Buccaneers’ crest, is a symbol of quality, value and service, and remains a constant reminder of a commitment that began a long time ago to do the best in bringing satisfaction to all who come in contact with the petroleum and football giants along their life’s journey.
