Attacking midfielder Patrick Maswanganyi is a product of the Stars of Africa Football Academy, and spent his early years as a professional footballer in Portugal, where he turned out for UD Oliveirense and Academica OAF.

Having returned home ahead of the 2022/23 season, where he turned out for SuperSport United, “Tito” was quickly on Orlando Pirates’ radar, subsequently joining the Club in June 2023.

Maswanganyi grew up idolising ex-Bucs midfielder Teko Modise, and lists Norwegian star Martin Odegaard among his favourite current players.
