Born in Walmer Township near Gqebera, Matrose rose through the development ranks at Chippa United before graduating to the First Team, where he quickly established himself as a key player.

His performances for the Chilli Boys caught the attention of the Buccaneers’ scouts, resulting in a transfer ahead of the 2022/23 season.

Following a season back at Chippa, where he was loaned out, the Leroy Sane fan is primed to continue his meteoric rise in the game in the colours of the Soweto Giants.
