Discovered dazzling his opponents in the dusty sands of Katlehong, locally-born Tebogo Tlolane joins Orlando Pirates in 2021 after a journey through the ranks that can only be described as purposeful and determined. Nicknamed for his speed and ability to mesmerise on the field of play, “Messi” began his football career playing in the ABC Motsepe League before moving on to the GLAD Africa Championship. It was not long thereafter that the midfielder magician had his first professional start in the PSL with Jomo Cosmos – a memory which he holds dear to his heart.
The rising star now joins the Buccaneers acknowledging the great responsibility that comes with joining the most well-known team in Africa. Tlolane welcomes the opportunity to create history with his new teammates and to add to the Great Wall of Orlando Stadium’s trophy cabinet.
While words like brave, persistent and tough are use to describe Tebogo on the field, off the field the player boasts humility and compassion in his efforts to give back to foundations within his community, reminding young footballers not to forget their roots and responsibilities.
