Yusuf Maart’s rise into the senior team has been met with much excitement by all who know just what he is capable of. When the Atlantis-born midfielder was brought to Orlando Pirates at the beginning of the 2016/17 season as part of the Multichoice Diski Challenge team, the setup gave him an opportunity to make it to the professional ranks.
A stand out performer in his 1st season in the MDC, promotion became a reality for Maart in March 2016 when he formed part of the first team squad that beat EC Bees in the Nedbank Cup Last 32 match played in East London, replacing the then-skipper Oupa Manyisa.
Maart has ambitions of one day playing in the national team colours in a major tournament, hoping it will open doors for him to play in Europe at Chelsea FC.
A hard worker with a never give up attitude, he is proud to represent his community at the highest level. This Messi fan loves to play video games and staying indoors during his free time.
